PV Design Engineer

The Solar PV Designer plays a critical role in bringing clean energy to life. You will be responsible for designing code-compliant residential solar photovoltaic systems, ensuring every project follows engineering department policies and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the intersection of renewable energy technology, structural integrity, and electrical precision.

• Technical college degree/certificate or relevant field experience in a trade.

• Basic knowledge of residential or commercial construction processes.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.

• Strong computing skills and the ability to learn new software.

• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and other internal teams.

• Create, review, and modify PV drawing sets using AutoCAD and custom software.

• Follow specific design criteria for structural, electrical, and equipment parameters.

• Ensure all designs comply with local and national building codes.

• Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, especially during high-volume end-of-month periods.

• Handle other tasks and duties as assigned by the engineering department.
